The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption recently announced its 100 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces of 2025, ranking Expand Energy as 77th, the highest energy company and the only oil and natural gas company listed. In its 19th year, the list highlights organizations across 22 industries providing standout adoption and foster care benefits. Expand Energy’s adoption assistance benefits include covering $20,000 in qualified adoption expenses and offering parental leave to adoptive parents.

“Adoption assistance benefits are a meaningful way we can help our employees grow their families and pursue parenthood on their own terms,” said Toni Parks-Payne, Vice President – Human Resources & Employee Services. “Expand Energy is committed to fostering an inclusive culture that celebrates every path to parenthood and actively supports the unique journeys of working parents and caregivers.”
The Foundation partnered with RTI International, an independent, nonprofit research institute, to survey employers across the United States and score participants based on three criteria: financial reimbursement, paid leave and the percentage of employees eligible for those benefits.
President & CEO of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Rita Soronen, shared her appreciation for all organizations offering these life-changing benefits.
“We know that these benefits can play a role in a family’s decision to grow through foster care or adoption,” said Soronen. “The organizations recognized this year demonstrate that these supports are not optional perks — they are essential elements of a workplace that values and strengthens families.”
