Operational Update
On July 29, Expand Energy reported its Q2 2025 financial and operating results. To learn more, see our news release and presentation.
“Expand Energy was created to make a more durable and efficient business,” said Nick Dell’Osso, Expand Energy’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are delivering more for less, outperforming every expectation set when we announced our merger, including an approximate 50% increase to run-rate synergies. Importantly, our outperformance is repeatable, achieving approximately 30% more free cash flow in 2025 and approximately 20% more in 2026 compared to our expectations at the beginning of the year. This significant improvement further demonstrates how our culture of continuous improvement creates value for our shareholders.”

Get to Know Spencer Land, Senior Workover Foreman – Haynesville

Spencer has been with Expand Energy and our legacy companies for 23 years. Loyal and humble, he puts family first — and he treats his coworkers like they’re family too.
How did you get your start in the oil and gas industry?
While visiting family in Texas, my wife’s cousin’s husband, a pumper, invited me to ride along with him for a day. I saw a drilling rig in operation, experienced the oilfield life — and even enjoyed a Texas-sized ribeye — and I was hooked. I spoke with the site manager that day, and when a position opened, he reached out. My family moved from Mississippi to Texas, and I started my career with Chesapeake Energy Corporation as a pumper, learning on the job with the help of great mentors. I’ve been with the company ever since, and it’s been a great 23 years.
What does a workover foreman do?
My team addresses downhole issues that impact a well’s productivity. We first diagnose the problem, then work with engineers and production foremen to develop the most cost-effective solution. If the numbers make sense, we step in to remediate the issue; if they don’t, we may decide to plug the well. Every well is unique, so each job requires a customized approach.
What’s kept you at the company for more than 2 decades?
Expand Energy has been incredibly loyal to me and my family. This job allowed me to move my family from Mississippi to Texas, put four kids through college and build a really great life. Beyond that, my colleagues have become lifelong friends — we hunt, fish and spend time together outside of work. Most importantly, we look out for each other. There’s a real family here, and I’m grateful to be part of it.
In the Community
During the past quarter, Expand Energy’s employees have been active members of their community, supporting a number of initiatives in our operating areas. Highlights include:
- Engaging Stakeholders with In-Person Meetings: Expand Energy continues to host local activities to inform community partners, landowners, legislators and first responders about our operations. In Q2, we offered lunch events in each of the parishes where we operate, with nearly 200 neighbors attending and interacting with our team (pictured below). We also hosted staff members from Sen. Bill Cassidy’s Washington, D.C., office on a rig tour so they could learn more about the industry and our company’s local operations (pictured above).
- Celebrating Community and Wellness through Father’s Day Run: Expand Energy was a proud supporter of Shreveport’s 6th Annual Father’s Day Run, offering family-friendly fun, fitness and community connection. We were recognized by the Shreveport City Council for our support of the event.
- Supporting Local Students with Scholarships: Five students local to the parishes where we operate received $5,000 scholarships from the Expand Energy scholarship fund. These students are pursuing STEM-related education (pictured below).

Sustainability Feature
Expand Energy recently published its 2024 Sustainability Report, highlighting how we’re driving energy security through responsible, domestic energy production. This report shares our commitments, but more importantly, it allows you to review our sustainability-related progress and performance in our first year.
