Five Questions with Mylen Madigan, Maintenance Superintendent – NE App

January 26, 2026

Mylen is a 17-year industry veteran with nearly 15 years spent at Expand Energy. He grew up in Pennsylvania and has taken advantage of every experience the area has to offer.

What does a typical day look like for you?
I’m based out of the NE App area, which is also where I grew up — so there’s a real sense of pride in helping safely develop energy right here at home.

Day to day, I oversee several operations across my department, including facilities and instrumentation and electrical. My job involves managing schedules and crews and keeping logistics running smoothly so all jobs stay on track.

No two days are the same, and that’s part of what keeps it exciting. Whether it’s troubleshooting an issue in the field or planning for upcoming projects, there’s always something new to tackle and a great team beside me to get it done.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is having the opportunity to work with a great team. I have been able to watch people enter the industry at an entry level position and grow their career. The opportunity Expand Energy offers for growth and development is second to none and I will forever be grateful for this opportunity.

I also appreciate that safety is part of all of our conversations at Expand Energy.

Success to me is ensuring each and every day our team goes home safely to their families.

How does ‘character’ as a core value resonate with you?
When I first became a leader at Expand Energy, I had a mentor that consistently mentioned ’fair, firm and consistent.’ This phrase helped set the foundation for my personal and professional character development as a leader.

It’s also helped me stay focused on integrity each day as a leader at the company. Character holds myself and my team accountable to be honest, consistent, trustworthy, respectful and empathetic. I have continued to challenge myself to become the best version of a leader through our core values and learning from the other great leaders at the company.

Where have you seen your team demonstrate character at work?
I’m continually impressed by the character I see demonstrated by my team and my coworkers day after day. We have created a culture where everyone’s opinions and concerns are heard and we genuinely look out for one another.

I also see the character of our team in the ways we go above and beyond to help our community. This year alone, everyone in NE App has volunteered a minimum of eight hours across local projects supporting various charitable partners. We’ve got a team and community that can depend on one another, which I am very grateful for.

What do you do when you’re not at work?
I really enjoy being outdoors, whether it’s camping with family and friends, hiking a new trail, fishing on the river, hunting in the woods, or taking my motorcycle out for a long ride. There’s something about being outside that is relaxing and peaceful. I really enjoy spending this time with my family and going on all kinds of adventures.
