Own Safety, Lead Safety
At Expand Energy, each of us own safety to lead safety. That means we look after ourselves, protect our coworkers and support a safety-first culture so that everyone returns home safely from work each day.
We establish and implement strict safety standards and thoughtfully follow our Safe and Compliant Operations Policy, prioritizing the well-being of our employees, partners and neighbors.
HSE Management System
Expand Energy’s HSE management system guides companywide efforts to keep our workforce and community safe, protect the environment and support industry regulation. Safety-First Culture
Every employee and contractor owns our safety-first culture, which is championed by executive leadership and reinforced through performance-linked compensation.
We track safety using indicators and metrics such as Stop Work Authority and Good Catch instances, TRIR, DART and MVAR.
SIF Adoption
Expand Energy uses serious incident and fatality (SIF) indicators for incident reporting and to identify resources to prevent fatal or life-altering injuries or illnesses.
By measuring and studying SIF events (both actual and potential), we drive improvement through focused training and the implementation of critical controls.
Targeted Training
Our HSER team develops training based on safety performance trends, job roles and location needs — prioritizing in-person instruction. All employees participate in HSE-related training, and we also align contractor training to support shared safety goals.
In 2024, we averaged 8.5 hours of HSE training per employee.
Process Safety
Process Safety works to manage the integrity of our operating systems and procedures by analyzing risks, designing safeguards, maintaining equipment and preparing for emergencies.
It encompasses protective controls and asset integrity programs to prevent incidents.

Contractor Management
Safety is a shared responsibility between employees and contractors. From the start of a relationship with Expand Energy, contractors undergo a qualification process that evaluates their safety and environmental record.
