Every year on April 22, people around the globe come together to celebrate Earth Day. Our local teams honored the day (or week) through volunteer opportunities that supported stewardship — a core value that we reflect in our daily operations.
Louisiana’s Largest Litter Cleanup
Haynesville team members participated in ‘Love the Boot Week’ — Louisiana’s largest litter removal and beautification effort. We supported projects in all six parishes in which we operate.

Household Items Recycling Event (Oklahoma City)
On April 22, Oklahoma City employees brought batteries, computer equipment, hard drives, plastic bags and unwanted medication for recycling or appropriate disposal. We also accepted paper for shredding and sports equipment which was donated to a local nonprofit.

Trout Restocking and Student Education (Wheeling, WV)
We partnered with Williams Energy to provide 2,000 pounds of live trophy-size trout for a creek restocking activity. Local fifth graders along with community and SW App team members spent their Earth Day restocking Big Wheeling Creek and learning about caring for natural resources.

E-Waste Disposal Project (Spring, TX)
Our Spring employees partnered with our office building and its other tenants to host an Earth Week e-waste event. Employees were encouraged to bring their electronic waste (discarded electrical and electronic devices) for potential donation or proper disposal. If not disposed of correctly, e-waste materials can pose environmental and health risks.

Seedling Distribution (Towanda, PA)
NE App employees volunteered preparing tree seedlings for the Bradford County Conservation District Earth Day event. Each year employees help to distribute free tree seedlings, and encourage native planting, to event attendees.
