Get to Know Josh Lawrence, Area Manager – Northeast Appalachia

Josh is Pennsylvania-born and has spent the last 14 years in NE PA with his family of seven, enjoying the area’s outdoor activities.
 
Your role at Chesapeake encouraged your move to NE PA. What are your job responsibilities now, at Expand Energy? 
I lead a multi-discipline team of approximately 150 people that develops natural gas in 6 counties across NE PA. My team is responsible for a large range of work including all pad construction, road construction, surface facility construction, production of 2,300+ wells, fresh and produced water management, and all associated maintenance for these activities. 

Which of Expand Energy’s core values resonate with you most?
I resonate with stewardship most. I believe that everything we do is only valuable if our personnel and the public are protected and safe. My goal as the leader of this team is to ensure we protect our people, the environment and our assets. To be sustainable and welcomed into the communities we operate in, we must keep these values at the forefront of everything we do.  

What do you do when you’re not at work? 
I enjoy the outdoors and spend time hunting and fishing. My family and I also like to attend music venues and travel across the U.S.
 
What are some of your local favorites?  
DiSavlo’s in Williamsport, PA is a go to Italian restaurant. I also really enjoy visiting and hiking in many of parks in the area. World’s End State Park and Ricketts Glen State Park are a couple of my favorite places to visit. 

In the Community

During the past quarter, Expand Energy’s NE App employees have volunteered their time and resources to give back to our operating areas and participated in a number of community events. Our highlights include:

• Packing lunches with CHOP: Each month we work with the Child Hunger Outreach Partners (CHOP) to pack bags of food for children and families in need in our community.
• Supporting Bradford-Sullivan County’s career day: At Expand, we believe in shaping the future by empowering the next generation. Our team members took the time to connect with students from Towanda High School in grades 6 – 12, sharing insights into career pathways, industry opportunities, and the exciting roles available within Expand.
• Volunteering with local food pantries: We worked with the Great Bend Food Pantry and Seven Loaves Soup Kitchen to prepare, organize, serve and deliver meals to members of our community.
